Goodness I really do not know where to start with this little man. He keeps us on our feet all day long and has a TEMPER! When he doesn't get his way or something doesn't do what he expected he screams, throws his body down, and cries! On the good side he is a very smart little boy with a big vocabulary and helps mommy clean (when he is in the mood).

Helping mommy unload the dish washer, boy do I hope he keeps this up!

He is getting over his third ear infection; which caused a rash on his arms and legs. The worst spots are on his thighs. He is also in the process of cutting some more back teeth. This past weekend was rough for all of us. Last night he did sleep 12.5 hours!

His normal sleep pattern is about 11 hours 7:15-6:00 sometimes he will have us up before 6:00.

Weight: 22 lbs ( He doesn't have his 15 month check-up until next Friday )

Baby food.....we are still having to buy baby food, he FLAT out refuses to eat what we eat but Breakfast foods! It confuses me how he will eat waffles, pancakes, french toast, grits, oatmeal, fruit bars, and peanut butter crackers! Even if we place something on his tray he pitches a fit.

He loves to be outside, we have to drag him inside while he screams. Still wearing 12 month clothes. He has taken an interest in climbing steps, on the dish washer, in the refrigerator, and now the slide. Becoming more and more INDEPENDENT!

Part 1 of Valentines Day Count down

This year I came across a really neat count down for the 14 days of Valentines. I thought it would be neat to do this and next year do a kid one with Connor. As of now Brock as received these little gifts:


Day 1: "You Rock" plus concert tickets to see Casting Crowns. Thank goodness I did not just go order these because come to find out he will be out of town that Friday night because of work and may not make it back in time for the concert Saturday. We are still discussing it but if not we will be doing something else fun.

Day 2: " I'm fortunate to know you" This was just a little bucket filled with little fortune sayings enclosed in plastic hearts.


Day 3: "You make my hear bounce"

Day 4: "I love you more than Chocolate" Neither one of us can have chocolate right now so this treat will have to wait:)

Days 6: "Some birdie told me you are looking for a Valentine...how about you Chews me" Notice half the package gone already.

Seriously Another Ear Infection

This afternoon we received the phone call from the sitter that we dislike getting lately.; Connor is running a fever! This time he was already on an antibiotic from his ear infection last Friday. We called and talked to the nurse and they had us bring him in. He was running a temp of 103 and the nurse decided to give him a shot to see if that would fight off the infection. Little man just went to bed and his temp was back to 103 it had dropped to 102 after his bath. I am praying it goes down tonight because if not we will be back at the doctor's office first thing in the morning. This makes for the third ear infection since Christmas. Please pray he gets over this ear infection and that it stays gone!!!!

Dog Crazy

Someone sure does love their dog. The other evening I caught Connor playing with Bella. At first he was chasing her all around the living room and soon found her favorite toy. (Sorry my child as no pants on, it was close to bath time)

One of our favorite things is when we ask him to Love Bella he goes up to her and lays his head on her and pats her. We do have moments where he is way to rough but most of the time he is very loving to her.

Another Ear Infection

This past week Connor started messing with his right ear more than normal. All week we debated on taking him to the doctor but never did since he wasn't running a fever. Friday morning he woke up with a low temperature and luckily Brock was able to take him to the doctor and sure enough he had another ear infection but it was the opposite ear he was messing with:) So far this ear infection has been easier on him. Thank goodness he didn't wake up during the night like last time with 104 temp! Friday night we slept from 8:30-7:15, wonderful for us! But last night he was back to his normal pattern waking every two hours but he never did cry over 10-15 minutes. But once he woke the first time neither one of us was able to go back to sleep, dislike nights like those. I just pray that once this ear infection is healed he will get back to his old normal pattern 7-6 at least!!

Busted Lip

Thursday night Connor had his first busted lip. He was running like a wild man and lost his balance and on his way down he somehow hit his toy just right. At first I thought it had hit him in the eye and then we noticed a little blood.

He loves it when we make him a bubble bath! This boy loves bath time anyways but the bubbles provided more excitement for him! Over the last week he has learned how to climb over the tub when he is ready to get out....guessing the crib is next; I hope that is no time soon!

Notice the ducks on the side of the tub? A few nights ago I was playing with them and had lined them up to count them with Connor. Ever since that evening he has done this on his own and points to them and wants me to count them. He is very good at point at the "Red" duck. Our sitter made the comment this week that he is learning his colors and can say some of them....we haven't heard him say a color yet but I wouldn't be surprised!

no smile for mommy tonight

The past few weeks have been busy and lack of sleep. Ever since Connor had his first ear infection over Christmas Break his sleep has been way off! Lately, he has been waking up at least 2-3 times a night and one night he had us up from 1:30ish-4:30ish (work night) and we both tried to rock him but he was just having a hard time falling back to sleep. Some nights he can fall back to sleep within 30 minutes but it takes me 30 minutes after he does to get back in a good sleep and next thing we know he is crying again. I am trying not to go in right at first and give him at least 20 minutes are so (unless he is screaming) Normally he just wants to cuddle and be rocked for a little while. I love the extra cuddles but missing a lot of sleep is hurting me at work. He used to sleep 11 hours straight and we miss that but he did give us a little surprise Saturday he slept from 7-7! His alarm clock goes off at 6:00 sometimes 5:30 (early riser like his mommy, but I don't like to be an early riser on the weekends). I am thinking his sleep issues are do to his TEETHING! He has been cutting several teeth these past few weeks and he is having a hard time. Teething tablets are our best friend right now:) Other than sleep and teething issue not much is happening around here besides Connor's eating issues.....another day.

A day out

Over the Christmas Break Connor was able to spend the afternoon with his Aunt Kathy and Jordan. This mommy was very thankful for them taking him out for a little while. The reason I say that is, I offered to keep a little girl that goes to our sitter for two days (our sitter was closed the week after Christmas) and in the end it was ROUGH! They were to close in age and the little girl just wanted to be held all day long. I made it through and realized that I could never stay at home and keep kids as my job. Anyways, a little more on Connor's day out. They took him to Chick-Fil-A for lunch and a little play time and then off to Walmart to find him a little toy. In the end they had a little problem with this thing called a Balloon:)

Connor and Balloons are like best buddies! Aunt Kathy told me he was determined to keep the Clearance Balloon! (I know every time we go into Wal-mart he sees them and starts saying Balloon OVER AND OVER and pointing to them!) She even tried to offer him the Toy Story balloon and refused it. So she shopped Wal-mart with the Clearance Balloon tied to her cart. While picking out his toy she showed him one and he said "Up" meaning put it back. The next toy he wanted: A FIRETRUCK.....who would have ever guessed:) While Aunt Kathy was checking out she asked the clerk if she could purchase the clearance balloon and they would not let her. In the end he came home with the toy story balloon and it was attached to his hip for the next THREE days until we had enough of the balloon going every where he went and he had to hold onto it while he ate!!!!

I love this one to pieces because it captures Connor's excitement about riding TRACTORS! While Granddaddy and Emma Grace were backing the tractor out from under the shelter Connor was watching and having a fit! He was confused to why he wasn't on the tractor and he showed his concern too.

Christmas night we had Brock's family over at our house for a Christmas dinner. Another great family get together filled with quality time as a family and opening more gifts for little man.

Lots and Lots of goodies for everyone.

My mom loves to shop (I guess that's where I got it from) so Christmas is always fun. Now that she has three grand-kids her tree is always overflowing with gifts!

Connor's John Deere wagon from Granddaddy and Grandma. He loves riding in this around the neighborhood and through the yard. We are planning on going to Rattlesnake Round up if it is not to cold for Connor and we can't wait to use the wagon for the first outing.

It also came with a construction helmet. He will grab it from the toy chest and walk around the house wearing his hat, laughing has he does:)

By the time we started opening gifts Connor was in a desperate need of a NAP. After we finished opening up his gifts we layed him down for a nap; while everyone else finished opening up gifts.

We had a great time spending time with family and eating a big Christmas lunch!

2012 Welcome

First of all Connor had his nights backwards: He thought last night was New Years Eve. He was up at 2:00 am playing and talking in his crib like it was mid morning!!! I was finally able to work him back to sleep at 4:30 am. The best part was cuddling with my little man and missing those nights of him being so little but then all at the same time it feels good knowing that is something we are past and doesn't happen every night now.

Like everyone in the country we all make some type of new years resolution I have made a few and I am going to give it my all this year! The first one is I'm on the bandwagon with the number one resolution to eat healthier and exercise more and lose a good thirty pounds. I have been struggling with this for over 6 months now but it is time to get serious about it. A few other ones are: to attend church service more (instead of working in the nursery every Sunday), develop a deeper relationship with Jesus, enjoy every moment with Connor, be a better wife/mommy, and do a few other projects around the house. The main project for this year is to get our privacy fence put up!!

Santa Came

I think Bella was more excited this year than anyone in the house. She sat at the stockings the whole time while I fixed monkey munch for breakfast and while Connor played in his room.

Santa went a little overboard but oh well. He is the only child right now and can be spoiled plus he needed some more big boy toys.

The very first thing Connor went for was the little six pack of chuck the trucks.....crazy right....this boy loves cars!

It took him about 3 minutes or so before he realized there was ball pit. Once he realized that he hardly ever came out! He had no interest what so ever in opening gifts.

His first play gun. I never did tell the story of him and the wrapping paper has a play gun. One afternoon I was over at my parents wrapping presents and he found a piece that was rolled up and started saying POW POW POW! First time I had ever seen him or word him doing this. It was so funny. Later that week I walked in at the sitters house to pick him up and sure enough three big kids were playing with toy guns and saying pow pow pow. Cutest thing ever...Guess I have a farmer and hunter on my hands:)

One new tradition we started this year was having one gift to open the night before Christmas, which will always be a pair of new pajamas for the family. I have always wanted to do this so we would all have matching pajamas for pictures and the video; plus Brock and I hardly ever buy new pajamas so it was nice to get some comfy pajamas.

Christmas Eve Night

Christmas Eve we spent the afternoon over at my parents and let Connor model his Christmas outfit. Once he was done modeling we loaded up in the car to head to the Candlelight Service at church. Connor sat with us during the service the whole time, not once did we have to take him out of the sanctuary. This was our first year attending and our close friends, Stephanie and Curt, sat behind us with their two little boys and I think Colton help keep Connor entertained some. The best part of the service for Connor was seeing all the candles being lit. He was memorized by the light. A great part of the evening for us was hearing a little girl, I know from they nursery, sing at the top of her lungs. She was great and her voice was so sweet, sounds just like her mom.

After finishing up with the cookies we went to see my parents and Connor was able to enjoy a ride on Grand-daddy's new gator.

My daddy has been adding water to his pond because it was getting very low. Now with him adding clean water we can see all the fish up near the dock. It is neat being able to see all of them. Connor was watching the fish until he heard the sound of the gator coming!

Night Before Christmas Eve

Friday night we loaded up in the car with Brock's family and headed out to look for Christmas lights. First off we made a stop for some supper, yum...Chick-fil-a. Next, we headed up to a main Christmas light attraction of the near by town. The next stop we were able to get out and enjoy walking around looking at all the lights. Brock's dad works with a gentleman that puts out a BUNCH of lights. Connor loved this! He kept saying WOW over and over and he wanted to touch everything.

Tuesday afternoon I received a phone call from the babysitter saying Connor had awake from his nap with a fever of 102. I immediately thought it was from his flu shot the day before. Before we put him to bed I gave him some more Tylenol but his fever was back down to almost normal. Around 11'o clock Connor started crying. I went to check on him and discovered he was sweating and shaking bad! As a mom I went in panic mode!! I knew we needed to put him in a luke warm bath. (A few weeks ago I had one of the mothers that uses the same babysitter we do tell me if anything ever happened during the middle of the night to call them that they could save us a trip to the ER because they are both in the medical field. Luckily, she told me that because our doctor office had no one on call after 11!!!!) Before we could even get him in the tub to help calm him down he started throwing up on us. After about 15 minutes in the water we got him ready for bed again but in cooler pj's and gave him some Advil. I rocked him for a little while and as soon as I went to place him in the crib he started coughing and threw up right in my hand. So we head straight back to tub. We looked at each other and said if he throws up one more time we are taking him to the ER. He never did throw up and went right back down. But mommy and daddy stayed up for a little while longer glued to the baby monitors. We slept with the baby monitor on the highest volume so we could hear him better if he threw up again. I think it was around 2:00 before we finally felt safe enough to go to sleep. Connor slept until 8'o clock that morning and when he awake his fever was still 103. I called the doctor and was able to get him in before lunch. Come to find out it was an ear infection. This is Connor's first and it has been rough. I am so glad we haven't had to deal with ear infections until now. The past two days have been bad because he doesn't know what he wants, want half eat, has a hard time going to sleep, and only wants his mommy. I am praying he feels better tomorrow and even better on Christmas day! I did catch him playing with our popcorn container....he was using it as a drum:)

The first of December a photographer here in town was having a Santa day. With the malls around here not having pretty Santa's I went ahead and sighed up for her to take Connor's picture. I am glad I did because he wasn't so sure about the whole idea. Luckily she had a rubber ducky that made our little man smile:

Back in November we took Connor out to one of my dad's cotton fields to attempt at Christmas card pictures. Well, Connor did not make it easy and needless to say only one of these made the cut for the card but it is the most precious pictures yet.

New Traditions

Last year Brock and I started talking about some traditions we would like to start in the year of 2011 as a family during the holidays. One of them we will always keep is going to a tree farm and cutting down a tree as a family. Some of the new ones this year include: attending the Church Christmas program, reading the story of the birth of Christ over a few nights (This is something Brock grew up doing with his family and he wanted to carry it on), attending the Christmas Eve service at church followed by riding around town looking at Christmas lights, baking sugar cookies for Santa, and opening up our one gift on Christmas Eve: new PJ's.

Tonight we started reading the story on the Birth of Christ while Connor drinks his milk.

An afternoon outside

I picked Connor up from the sitter's house early today and once we were home he wanted to go outside and play! With the weather being a little warmer today we were able to enjoy and afternoon outside as a family.

Having great neighbors is something we lack in our neighborhood. But, luckily we have one of the nicest ones on the block right next door to us! She always speaks to us and today she was there when I needed help....another post....anyways the other week she was having a yard sale but we didn't walk over to it because we were in a hurry that morning. The next night I was outside about to take Connor on a stroll around the neighbor to see the Christmas lights and she stopped me. She had one toy left from the yard sale and she thought Connor might enjoy it and boy was she right! This particular toy I had debating over buying him for Christmas but couldn't see spending $30.00 on it so it didn't make the cut:) In the end he still received one....a bouncy zebra.

Last weekend we had the opportunity to visit a local tree farm. This is the same place Brock and I have gone since our first year dating. By the way the tree farm is looking it will not be around for no more than 4-5 more years.... :( This is something we enjoy doing each year; cutting down a tree is something we want to continue doing for years with our child (children).

Connor had his first hair cut the Wednesday day before Thanksgiving. He did great with the whole process. The front of his hair is a little uneven but not too bad. What else can a mommy expect when her son cannot stay still.

Popcorn Popper

From the get go I told all family that I did not want a POPCORN POPPER in my house. If you know me my nerves can not handle that kind of noise for long. I knew it was bound to happen and my mother in law and my own mother tried there hardest! In the end my brother William was the one to buy this one toy that I refused to buy my child. At first he liked to just push it back and forth while sitting on the floor. A few days after receiving this toy he paid no attention to it until this morning. Out of no where he just took off walking with it like a pro. When he first tired to walk with it a while back he couldn't balance it and walk; well now he can:

Christmas Parade

Today our hometown held their annual Christmas Parade and we were all able to be a part of the actual parade. Brock drove the firetruck while mommy and Connor sat in the other seat and waved to all the people. It was nice because we were able to keep him warm on a cold night. Next year we plan to take him to a parade and let him watch it while also being in our hometown parade.

We all had a blast. While driving back to our car Connor fell fast asleep in my arms. He was worn out! While getting out of the fire truck and getting into his car seat he stayed asleep. I felt bad having to wake him up to give him a quick bath and his night milk. But he was out like a light.

He has always loved this one red pillow at my parents house but never seemed interested in the pillows on our couch until the other evening. Someone discovered mommy had three soft pillows to play with....he even snatched one from under the poor dog. Next thing I knew he was rolling in the floor with the pillow.

I have been meaning to do a little post on Connor's Fall Tree that we made with his hand prints. In the end it turned out better than I thought, he did not like the paint on his hands at all! After a month of making this tree we finally hung it on the wall in the kitchen under a very special photo:

Now with Thanksgiving over it was time to make a Christmas Tree with little man. He did a lot better this time, no fussing and no crying!

I love looking at this precious piece of artwork! It is something we will cherish for a lifetime.

Connor has been walking really good for the past week but last night he discovered that he could stand up all by himself in the middle of the floor. From that point on it was full mode!!! I was trying to do some laundry and when I turned around to go check on him in the living room he was turning the corner in the kitchen to come find ME! He kept walking and walking! I say we have our hands full now. This is a very happy thing because he has hit another major milestone but it makes me want to cry because he is growing up way to fast in my eyes.

Taking care of his little teeth. We have made this a nightly thing as of now. At first I was a little iffy on starting him so young but a friend of me said I should at least let him chew on the brush to get used to one. Well, we skipped the step of having to get him used to the idea. The first try he was like what are you trying to do to me...he never cried or pushed me away. Every since he opens up for me to brush over all his teeth:)

I think we have a woodchuck on our hands....

We knew we had a few scratches on the crib from the crib toy that was hanging on it (they don't make those things with big straps for wide cribs) so when Brock made the statement that it looked like things were worse I was in denial. Well....this Sunday I went into his room to change his crib sheet and noticed the other side of the crib had TEETH marks on it!!!! I freaked out! If you know me I have an OCD problem and knowing I will be using this crib for all our children made me go crazy! In the beginning we had bought a teething guard for the front of the crib....never though about the sides! Anyways, we went straight to babiesrus.com and ordered the side guards! Today was the day they arrived and we were able to sand down the crib and put some polish on it, once that was done things looked a lot better, just praying the polish works for a while. So now our crib looks like this:

Wonder if I should order one for the back of the crib!!! We lowered his crib all the way down so it will be a while before he can reach that part now so maybe he will be past his woodchuck days. I just hate having this pretty crib wrapped all up but if it protects it from this wild boy it makes me happy.

The Big ONE

Cannot believe I am about to write about my baby turning ONE! This past year has flown by and we as parents have learned so much and our love for our sweet little man has grown so much and keeps growing daily. This coming Monday we take him for his one year check-up....dreading the shots!!!! But anyways this is our little man at a year old:

The sweetest personality but he does know how to pitch a temper already. He doesn't like to share his toys. He gets upset at church when the little girls try to take his trucks from him. When he wakes up in the morning he is full of energy and ready to take on the day until its bedtime! He is consistently on the GO! Into something all the time, LOVES to be chased around the living room....his laughter melts our hearts.

Being outside is something he enjoys every afternoon, until the mosquitoes run mommy inside.

He has started walking pretty good! We are still having to feed him some baby food but just recently he has said NO to PEAS and GREEN BEANS! At breakfast he eats big boy food and at lunch receives a thing of baby fruit with big boy lunch and supper depends on his mood! Some nights we can get away without having to open any baby food and then sometimes that's all he wants! Fruit is still an issue we are having because of the texture.

I am going to try to list all the words he can say as of now...hopefully I can remember them:

That smile is priceless!

He is sleeping ok, he has his nights where he wakes up twice but normally goes back to sleep within minutes and then sometimes it takes him over an hour with some extra loving from mommy. I think the issue with sleeping is teething and his tummy is having a hard time getting used to whole milk. Just within the past day he seems to be doing better with it. He is wearing 12 month pants and 12 to 18 month shirts. We have found the the robeez shoes work the best for this little man! most days he leaves them on all day and then some times he decides he wants nothing to do with them.

I will post his weight and height next week after his doctors appointment, other than everything is still the same with little man:)

For Connor's Birthday I decided to make a balloon wreath to hang on the front door for the month of November. It turned out great and took way more balloons than I had ever thought of! We will be using this wreath for many years to come and for all of our birthday months.

First Steps

our little monkey took his first steps! Just this past week he has started walking more than crawling, as long as his pants are not to long. I never did a post on this and I have been meaning to post a video but just haven't had the time.

Tractors and Footballs

But most of all he Loves Tractors!

Just the other day he was able to ride with Grand-daddy for a good 2 hours in the Cotton picker! Grand-daddy made him a little pallet on the floor and Connor sat right up against the front window and had a good time! Actually, that night he slept the best he had in a few weeks! He is back to cutting more teeth, which means restless nights.

Grand-daddy might just have a future farmer.

Fall Festival at Church

After the parade Connor ate lunch and went down for a nap; a nap that lasted 2.5 hours! He was worn out! Once he was awake we loaded up and headed back to town to our church. Every year our church does a fall festival for the community and we try to volunteer when we can. I think next time we have a little one under 1 with no grandparents around to help we will skip! It was rough and Brock was not feeling 100% at the time. Luckily one of my good friends from church saved the day but helping with Connor while we helped with the duck pond. Connor really wanted to play in the water with all the rubber duckies, he was mad when we wouldn't let him. Once our thirty minutes of duty were up we had to leave, by this time Brock was feeling WORSE. Later to find out he had the stomach virus that is making its way around. And then 24 hours later I came down with it, lets just say I lost 7lbs in one day, its BAD! and I still do not have a full appetite. We praise God for watching over Connor during the time and not letting him catch the bad virus. My mother in law came and saved the day by watching him Sunday evening when I became ill and Brock was too weak to watch him and Monday morning he sent him on to the sitters house, while we stayed home recovering. I think with keeping him away from us as much as possible was the best thing! So needless to say our Fall Festival at Church was not what we had planned but sickness is nothing we plan.

Fall Festival in Boston

Our Fall Festival activities started out Saturday morning in Boston. My mom's family is from Boston, so every year they get together on this weekend and spend family time together. I decided to take Connor and enter him in the little Halloween Custom Contest and stay for the parade. The Custom Contest was nothing special but it something for us to enjoy doing with one another. Connor enjoyed watching the parade, it was a true redneck parade but it included his two favorite things: Tractors and Firetrucks!

Run for a Cure

This weekend my mom and I joined up with Brock's family to do a 5k Walk/Run, all funds go to our cancer center. We found out that it had two loops to the course, which meant you could just do part of it or all. Both loops were 1.5 each and one side was woody (which was the starting point). In the end most of us just did half the walk/run.The part that we did was enough with pushing a stroller, it was sandy, wet, bumpy, and hilly! When coming up all the hills it took, Grandma, Granny, Aunt Kathy, and me to push the stroller. We all had fun even in the cold!

Sunbelt Ag Expo

On Wednesday we headed to the Ag Expo as a family. A few days before we realized it was going to be cold and at first I thought about not taking little man but I really wanted him to experience it. Once we turned on the road that takes you to the Expo we were in TRAFFIC and I mean TRAFFIC. It was backed up over three miles! We were in this traffic for over an hour and a half!!!!! By this point Connor was screaming to get out of his car seat. We finally decided to get in the other lane and go a little distance and get back in the lane we needed to be in. Come to find out that is why our first lane was so backed up because of people needing to get back over and two main gates were closed because the day before it RAINED! Once we were out of the car we realized the temperature had dropped and the wind was blowing! I bundled Connor up the best I could and try to make the best of the day after so much time had been wasted in traffic.

As soon as Connor was on a tractor he started reaching for the wheel and making the tractor sound:)

Daddy was worn out after a few minutes of catching Connor at the end of the slide. Before Brock could get ready to catch him, he was already pushing off. Connor's teething days are terrible but I'm sure they do get worse with some children. This whole week Connor has been waking up through the night and crying out but falling back to sleep pretty quickly BUT he wakes up at 4:00AM and doesn't go back to sleep. It has been a very tiring week to say the least! The baby-sitter even told me that he wasn't taking good naps and was fussy. We knew he was cutting his fourth tooth (on the top) at the end of last week but had no clue he was cutting three at one time. This morning I was on the floor with him and noticed he was chewing on something....(a piece of trash) with trying to get it out of his mouth I noticed another white tooth making its appearance (Right by the one that had just cut through the gum). Then I started looking on the other side and noticed the 6th tooth was trying to cut through the gum! With him being so clingy, fussy, and poor sleep I kinda thought it was teething because he had no other symptoms of being sick but had no clue he was cutting three at one time!

Who knew a toy basket would be a GREAT toy! The other night we were stuck inside due to the rain and we had one GRUMPY little boy on our hands. Brock was trying all we could do to keep little boy entertain until bedtime.

This past weekend we stayed the night at my parents house to babysit their dog, Buster, AKA Bella by Connor. With that being said we were able to enjoy a Saturday morning breakfast at Chick=fil-a (vary rare for us to do this because their isn't one in our hometown) and then we headed out to my daddy's farm for a little tractor ride.

The Town Fair

Normally we do not attend the town fair but we had some good friends of ours to invite us. We decided to go and let Connor get a close up of farm animals and just have a good time out with friends. What makes it nice is they have a little boy six months older than Connor; which means many more play dates in the future. Plus, they have another little boy due in the next two weeks. We had planned on letting the boys ride the merry-go-round but the gentleman in charge would not let them. But instead they were able to ride the little train. All in all we had a great time making memories.

11 Months...Bittersweet

So Bittersweet...that our little baby boy is only a month away from turning the BIG 1! It seems like yesterday he would just cuddle in my arms and enjoy extra snuggles. Now days he is far to busy to enjoy snuggles that his mommy wants so dearly. At 11 Months old he is full of adventure and takes after his mommy, loves to be on the go, unless it's nap time!.

Connor is weighing in at 21 lbs by the home scale.

He is just now getting into 12 month onesies and 12 month pants are to big in the waist and length but they work. Thank goodness some have adjustable waist; and for a dear friend to let me borrow some of her 12 month pants because all I have are 18 months from buying on clearance last year for 1.00 a piece...maybe he will be able to wear them. They work as long as they are rolled up:)

Three teeth and counting. The fourth one is taking its sweet time to make an appearance.

He has cut way back on his milk not sure why but he just isn't wanting much. He was taking 4 cups a day but now he is taking 3 and some times only wants 2. Once again he seems to drink more at the sitter's so I am not that worried as long as he is gaining weight. Taking two naps a day, he still needs both and they seem to be 2 hours each. I am so thankful that he is good sleeper and napper.

Loves his books. He is standing by himself now and pulling to standing position without any help. I keep saying one day he is just going to take off and boy will I have my hands full....he is full of energy already! His favorite thing is being outside or around tractors.

We have his first birthday party planned and have already had his one year pictures taken. It just doesn't seem like it's time for all of these things to be taking place.

Muffins and Pancakes

For a few weeks now Connor has been refusing to eat table food for me. Our sitter, Mrs. Vera, claims he eats like a pig at her house but he plain out refuses to eat anything but baby food for me. This past week I have been able to stay at home due to Fall Break at work, by the way I loved being at home and enjoying extra time with little man and sleeping past 6:00. Actually two of the mornings Connor let us sleep in, which now days is 7:45! With being in no rush in the mornings I fixed us muffins and pancakes for breakfast on two days. HE LOVED THEM! Last few times he would have nothing to do with them and he took right to them.

The weather was perfect for our first visit to Mark's Melon Patch today. With it being the first of October it was not crowded which made it nice. We had a great time walking around looking at all the pumpkins, flowers, sunflowers, and enjoyed riding on the hay ride. One thing we found out Connor enjoyed doing the face pictures (you will see in the pictures to come). With having so many pictures, to many to pick, I am just going to try to break them into a few different post.

Little Red Car

With a birthday and Christmas around the corner I started thinking what are a few big items we can get for Connor. We have had his main birthday present since the first of summer because it was on sale...I have been looking at getting a little red car with the push handle for him for Christmas. But, today on the way home I notice this little red car sitting outside of consignment shop. From the road, the best I could tell, it looked to be in good condition. I decided to call Brock to get him to go check it out and told him how much a new one cost and to base the deal of that. On average a new one cost $50.00-60.00, a little more than I really wanted to spend on this toy for outside. Brock arrived and sure enough had the little red car in hand....it was in good condition...you can tell it has been used....but the best news is it cost a whole $6.00!!! I think I can live with the scratches for that price. With it having scratches on it we decided to just go ahead and let Connor have the toy instead of waiting until Christmas:) The really good news is Connor LOVES it!!! Every time Brock would stop pushing him he would try to stand up in the seat and protest with a little squeal:) SPOILED:)

For a little over a week Connor has been pushing his activity table all around the house. With him doing this, I showed him how to use his walker and for the first few days it was a little hard for him. After a few days he had the hang of it, he was everywhere! He actually runs not walk!

While we were visiting my brother's family we had the opportunity to visit Southern Belle Farm on Saturday. Brock and my other brother were pushed for time and were unable to stay with us because they needed to hit the road to make it to the FSU game on time.

We left about 15 minutes after this picture was taken and lets just say he had a cup of milk and went right to sleep! He slept for 2.5hours in the car! It was a nice car ride home because once he woke up I decided I would just feed him in the car so we could keep traveling and not have to stop because we still had an hour to go. Plus, once we arrived to my parents house I had to load up our car and drive 20 more minutes. Connor did really well the entire trip!

Today we celebrated Connor turning ten months old. Part of me misses the little bitty newborn stage, but I adore this stage where every day his personality shines more! Connor loves to laugh, play, chase Bella and Dixie, and he is babbling all the time. The only time of the day he will snuggle now is bedtime. Once he is done with his milk must nights I can hold him in my arms for a few extra snuggles while he drifts off to sleep. He now has a "blankie" that helps make nap time and bed time easier.We are having a hard time getting him to drink from a hard top sippy cup. He prefers the nuk cup still. I normally can get him to drink one serving of milk a day from a hard top and after that he wants his soft top.
Connor is being very picky with table food: so far the only things he will pretty much eat good for us is: Sweet Potatoes, Mashed potatoes, Grits, applesauce, Chicken and rice, and pancakes. If I try to give him fruit he spits it right back out! About two weeks ago I asked the baby sitter to start giving him some table food to help me out so hopefully soon it will pay off. We have also tried the yo-baby yogurt in banana and blueberry and he takes a few bites and after that he will not open his mouth! I think I the main issue is because it's "COLD". He likes nothing COLD!!!
He is now walking while hold onto the furniture. He loves to play with the doors!

Connor can say: "Hey, Mama, Daddie, Bella, and bye-bye"
He is now waving bye-bye (when he feels like it) and clapping his hands. When he claps his hands his face lights up with the biggest smile!

Notice the the little books?!? The best thing we could have ever bought. HE LOVES BOOKS and will talk to a book for minutes at a time!

This is the new "Blankie" that he loves! It is hard to describe what he does but I will try: he holds it up to his month and tries to lick it but actually doesn't but his month is doing the motion!

Over the weekend Connor was able to experience his first football game. Over all he did great. I think he would have even done better if it wasn't so hot! We arrived at the stadium around 6:00 and Connor lasted until 8:30ish; he was able to make it until half time and see the band. I think that was his favorite part:).

New Words

For a little over a week Brock kept trying to convince me that Connor was saying "Bella"; now have after a few days of hearing him I will say he is! It is more like "ella" than "Bella". Most of the time Bella will be on the top part of the couch and Connor will look up and see her and YELL "ELLA, ELLA"! Other times he will be heading towards the couch trying to find her, while yelling her name! (Like he is doing now because she is no where to be found:))

Another new word is "Elmo" more like "lmo". I was reading a book called "Bubbles Bubbles" that has the characters Bert, Ernie, Cookie Monster, and Elmo. While pointing to their pictures and saying their names out of no where he repeated "lmo". Brock told him if he would repeat it we would go by him a Elmo but no such luck. I love this stage!!! I am thinking he have a BIG talker on our hands! And one thing is for sure he doesn't get it from his Mama.....wonder who?!?

Tooth #2 has appeared!

Over the weekend Connor seemed a little more clingy and was CRANKY! He has been dealing with allergies so we just thought it was getting the best of him. Tonight I decided to rub some Orajel on his gums to see if that would make him feel a little better. While in the process I thought I felt another tooth! I had to try really hard to see but I did. It just broke the gum:) Now we know why he hasn't been acting his normal lately. Maybe within the next few days the pain will ease up and he will get back to his happy little self and sleep past 6AM:)

I love walking into Connor's room in the morning to see him get all EXCITED to see us coming through his door. Over the weekend the whole pulling up process seemed to take off! Every time we turned around he was pulling up on something and trying to bite the furniture;) (Not Good)

Most of the time this toy puts him to sleep. When he wakes up in the mornings he starts right back playing with it

Loves his TOES, even when they are covered! He has also been trying to get my toes at night while we sit on the floor for story time or while I am trying to get this wiggle worm dressed for bed.

I went to turn off his music and grab him an outfit to wear to church and when I turned back around this is what I saw! Thank goodness the camera was close by because this was the first time he pulled up in the crib:)
